Hey, so i have a small bleeding screen on my s7 edge, have insurance and got my new phone in today. Decided to use the old one that I will be turning in to test Samsung's water resistant feature. After i took these photos i dried it off. The home button didn't work for about 15 minutes same with the power button, but so far it's as if nothing happened! I'm using the phone to post these! It's incredible! Take a look!

These are amazing! I think their is abit much blue though. More of a turquoise would make these pop

I've been very tempted lately to try this with my S7 edge. I'm just not too sure how the metal in the charge port and 3.5 jack will like the saltwater though.

The charge port didn't work until it dried but it cane up with a display saying charge port has moisture... but it charged fine last night. Home button didn't work until it dried out but it is functioning now.

The camera on the galaxy is great. I know you are using a "spare" phone but just for anyone considering this, the waterproofing on both Apple, Samsung and any other smart phones should really be considered an emergency failsafe IMO. There has been multiple failures of smart phone waterproofing and salt water is obviously much harsher too.

If you want to take underwater pics regularly but don't want to risk your phone I highly recommend an Olympus tough camera, they are seriously awesome. Great photos and it also has a macro mode which works quite well for a point and shoot camera.

Yes and no... a lot of people have shot video and pics underwater. I'm guessing the camera you mention is also 500 or more...i know I'm not going to fork up 500 plus for a camera when I have my phone. Just mashing some points for me..

Yeah a lot of people do it, but for the number of failures I have read about (and seen a couple of friends experience) I wouldn't be keen to risk a smart phone ($1000+ in Aus) by deliberately getting it wet over and over. The waterproofing is awesome to have though if I ever drop it in a puddle or get caught in the rain, or even for if I drop the phone while taking top down pics of the tank :p

The Olympus tough cameras were $300 back when I got mine but it does seem like the newer models have gone up to mid 400's (in Aus anyway). But there are still plenty of great waterproof point and shoot cameras around the $200 mark so if it is something you want to do regularly (and not with a spare phone that is) either a cheap waterproof camera or even an avast port hole could be good investments.

All that aside great pics :)
