I am setting up a refugium in tank to grow pods for my mandrin. I am using the inner part of a Acclimate. It already has the holes drilled in the plastic box. Do I need a pump for it or can the flow for the tank be enough? Also, Do I have to put sand in it or can i just put live rock rubble?

you don't need sand in it u just need the macroalgae in there to be able to house pods..maybe a little bit of rubble for the pods

Yeah I would do just rubble and macro algae. You will not be able to get sand to stay in there unless you put something in the bottom. (Just last month I used the inner compartment of the acclimate as an in tank hospital room for a snail who was injured and he liked to burrow in the sand. So I cut a piece of filter pad and put that in the bottom and then put about 1/2" of sand for him. It was messy and a pain, but it helped him.)
