Hey everyone,

I was looking at my tank recently and was curious on your opinion of rock placement.

My tank is 5ftx2ft and do you think it's better for my rock to be pushed up against the ball or in the middle of the tank? My assumption is I should move it to the middle to increase the flow and minimize detritus. Whats your thoughts?

Thanks.

hi,my vote would be middle, room for fish to swim, glass maintance :)

I've always moved my rocks to the back, even in my tank that is 30" rather than 24" front to back. However, I do elevate some of the base rocks off the sand on egg crate platforms with pvc pipe legs. This really improves the flow.
