I added a Diamond Goby to help with getting my sand bed turned over. I am getting the expected sand storm and silt storm. I have also seen an in increase in my Nitrate and phosphate. My nutrient levels are usually low. I am attributing the increase to the goby releasing sequestered nutrients within the sandbed. Is this a reasonable assumption?

Correct, as your goby started stirring up stuff, he most likely released detritus and nutrients that were trapped in your sand bed into the water column.

Thanks for the confirmation. I will increase my water change schedule until things stabilized
