Hello team,

Wondering how can i increase the KH in my aquarium. Today i tested my water and found the following:
Ph 8.2
Kh 6
Nitrates 25
CA 430
Mg 1455

Question is how to increase KH to 7 or 8 without touch other parameters (ca, mg)?

My tank is 250 lts, do you think a 60 lts WC (red sea coral pro)will help to increase KH to 8? My tests were done with salifert test kits
Or maybe a recommendation for a good additive to increase it without affect the others.

Your help is really appreciated.

Stock:
Rabbit fish
Clownfish wyoming
3 chromis
Gramma loreto
Yellow wrase
3 shrimps
1 head candy
2 anemones
2 mushrooms
1 ranibow monti 1 inch

You will want to use a carbonate based product such as these for example:

DIY BRS: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-bulk-soda-ash-sodium-carbonate-aquarium-supplement.html
ESV 2-Part, Part A: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/esv-b-ionic-calcium-buffer-system.html
Seachem Reef Fusion (what I use): https://www.marinedepot.com/Seachem..._Hidden_Products-Seachem-SC12130-FIHI-vi.html

There are other similar products as well. None of these will impact your calcium or magnesium.

Thanks clsanchez, what about the ph, will be this impacted or not? Thanks again , starting to read the links :)

They all have various impacts on pH so you will want to add slowly. I would not worry about targeting your pH to a specific number. Once you figure out your daily alkalinity (carbonate) needs and dose daily, it will stabilize.

And yes. Simple water changes with a high alk salt mix like Red Sea coral pro or even Instant ocean will increase your KH and PH.

IMO with coral use a balanced dose. Both calcium and alk. Not just the ph (alk) buffer

Not just the ph (alk) buffer
+1
And do not use the Seachem PH buffer. It has borate in it and at very the least, it will throw off your test kits over time.
