Hello all,

My tank is a 60 cube (2' lxwxh), and I have 1 Kessil AE 360 Tuna Blue on it. I recently bought a few frags from a fellow hobbyist who also runs this same light on his frag tank (700s on the display). He has his set to 100% intensity with 0% white and the corals look amazing, have solid growth, and have been that way for a long time.

I on the other hand have read that most people keep this light at 50% (or at least a lot of people selling claim to have had them at 50% or less), mine has been at 45% intensity and 30% white. So my plan is to slowly ramp up my intensity over the next few weeks and I wanted some advice as to how I should spread it out so I dont shock the coral I have already.

Initial plan was to bump the intensity 5% every 5 days, and drop whites the same amount. Is that too fast or slow? Thanks for any help.

Your plan is good. Keep an eye on the corals. They will tell you.

You’ll know.

Zoas May shrink up at the end of the day Sps May get pale , lps May het pale etc.

What you’re doing is looking for the sweet spot in the tank.
It’s a function not only of light but if nutrients and alk. No two tanks are really the same , and coral take a very wide range of lighting intensity.

Yours , even with the exact same tank Light and higth over the tank etc may be different from the next guy.

A very good discussion.

Thanks for the link, it was a good read. It sounds like you're right and I need to find out the sweet spot for myself by trial and error. At least after seeing him run them at that setting, I wont be worried ramping mine up. I was so scared of too much light that I didn't want to experiment with it.
