I tested my Alk after not doing so for a few weeks to find it pretty low (5.7). I wanted to up the Alk so I will be dosing slightly more a couple times a day to get it up to around 8-9. I think that the low alk is likely limiting my stony corals' ability to grow, although all coral in the tank are healthy with excellent polyp extension. When my pump doses the ESV B-ionic alk component I notice small white particles immediately forming amongst the white cloudiness that normally occurs as the alk component enters the tank. My guess is that a little bit of the esv is precipitating, is this likely what is happening? Is it normal so have slight precipitation even though most of it dissolves into the water column? I ask because this wasn't the case before.
