So, buying my first corals, six of them, and I've had them about a week. I have my GSP on an isolated rock. From what I hear, this is the easy peasy coral - I've even heard it's hard to kill - but, in my case, it's the only one that doesn't look like it's doing well. It's browning. Hopefully you can see the contrast between the purple just left of center and the browning everywhere else.

Any idea what's up? Is this burning from light intensity? Cyano? Death? Nothing? Any insight appreciated. Before and after browning.

Oh, I’ve killed me some GSP.

Then it zombied

Blow it off , and move it around. Look for diffent flow and Light basically.

Every tank is diffent , some tanks hate gsp, some hate Xenia.

I've had some GSP that did great for several months than all of a sudden turned brown like yours - everything else in tank did great, splitting and making new heads. Finally, the GSP came back, and then my problem became one of controlling it!

Like Salty recommended, I'd clean it up, put it under different light and flow conditions and be patient - they do come back, and usually with a vengeance.

Lol, right ??

It encroaching on my scallop now.

Yep, as the bumper sticker reads, "Stuff Happens" or something like that. Every now and then I get a coral or a fish that defies common description, care guides, etc.
