I have saved my pennies and received permission from my wife to buy a frag of gold torch. I was wondering about the differences, beside appearance, between indo and Australian gold torches. Specifically, does one tend to do better in our tanks?
thanks for the yelp

Indo torches tend to do better in tanks and are a little less sensitive to water quality. If you do a quick search on the forum for Aussie golds, you find a large number of issues people have come across with keeping them. One week they are doing amazing and the next tentacles falling out and dying. If you do some research you'll find that Aussie golds are found in the wild typically where the rivers meet the ocean high flow, more brackish waters. Long story short I know very few reefers that have been able to keep Aussie golds. Not saying it isn't possible it's just a little more challenging. Myself I've decided to steer clear of Aussie gold until they are aquacultured a little more...

We had a 3 headed monster (pic #1) that had been growing in our tank for a few months, then one head started to die, and then they all started to die... it was a tough loss for us.

Our Indo gold though are thriving and I love the colors they exhibit.

Congrats on your first post BTW, welcome to the deep end of the pool :) Let me know what you end up with always happy to see new euphyllia in tanks!

Thank you for the help. I think I’ll go with an indo. Hopefully I can get it today

Can't wait to see it! The colors really come out when the torch has full acclimated to your tank :)

All indo and Aussie bottom right. Only had the Aussie for about a month but it seems to be doing fine. Lol I didn’t read the threads about aussies being difficult to keep...hopefully mine survives
