Inducing Skimming?

Everytime I feed my fish (frozen foods) my skimmer's (Bubble Magus Curve 9) foam head gets knocked out for a good 6 hours. Is there anyway I can induce skimming so those DOC's aren't piling up? Thank you.

Sounds like it’s the oils in your food. For example PE Mysis send my skimmers nuts. I thaw out the mysis and rinse it in fresh rodi water and it stopped the trouble for me.
