Hi, have had tanks up and running now since May of 20 and my main display since October of that year. Have had inexperience related mistakes, set backs with Acropora, but for the most part, (and have knocked on wood before writing this) very few problems other SPS, and all other LPS, including Euphyllia have thrived. Believe in this time I have lost one Hammer, otherwise all frogspawn, torches, hammers, galaxea, have flourished - Duncans are like weeds.

The one exception from this have been C jardinei. Have purchased healthy specimens from dealers that have looked great on purchase, and either tanked within days, weeks, or months. They have looked elegant for some of that time, accepted feeding, etc., and then slowly regressed, made some valiant efforts to recover and whither away.

Each time I say never again, then 2 months go by, and I think the tank has matured, I learnt something from the last try and its wash rinse repeat.

Have read up on it, and have tried dips more/less light/flow and here we are.

Anyone have any suggestions other than better discipline to just say no to the next purchase? Any additional care and feeding tips?

for the record this is in two sister tanks, a 180 display and 90 lagoon - both with T4/radions, all chemistry in good ranges, nutrients run to the high side

a few shots of other LPS, early in the am, and torches not yet flowing

I feel your pain. I had a pair of elegances and my melanarus nipped all the tentacles off one and savaged the other (which doesn't look like it's going to make it). As much as I'd also like to get another one, I'm wary...

I’m probably never going to buy another one as it never worked out in the past.

My only tip is to ensure it’s an Aussie, Indos by all reports just aren’t nearly as hardy and generally don’t do well.
