Hey everyone I’m new to this forum. I did do a thread about being new to this forum. Long story short I was out of the hobby for half a year or so and got a super early Christmas gift surprise. The rest of the things I’ve just ordered today.

-Aqueon Siphon Vacuum Gravel Cleaner - 5 Inch Medium
-Aquamaxx Eco-Rock Dry Live Rock - 10 lbs
-API Saltwater Liquid Master Test Kit
-XP Aqua Duetto Dual-Sensor Complete Aquarium Auto-Top-Off ATO System
-Red Sea Coral Pro Salt Mix 55gal - Bucket
-One & Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria 2oz - Reef Pure - Dr. Tim`s Aquatics

Yup I’m going to start with the fish less cycle. Debating on using some muratic acid on the rocks. I normally do that but that was back then I don’t know how much phosphates get released out of these rocks now a days.

Congrats! 1/2 yr. is nothing...you haven't missed anything radical imo. Probably could have cycled your 7G tank during that time though ;).

What's your plan fish / coral wise?

I started a similar Waterbox Nano 10G tank a little over a month ago using some equipment I had from inventory like old Kessil A80 lighting and controller.

I did purchase the XP Aqua Duetto ATO since I did not have a spare ATO that was small. Previous version has worked well on my Evo 13G till this day.

For fish I’m letting the lady decide. I told her a clown and goby shrimp pair max. Nothing more than that. I’ll be doing weekly changes once cycle is done. I will not be running a slimmer either. For corals wise I’m going to try and stay with zoas palys acans and some euphulias that’s about it. Nothing to crazy.

Well well we’ll everythingnis expected to be here Friday. I filled up 15 gallons of RODI ready to be mixed this weekend then it’s just the matter of aquascaping.

Ok here it is. Water is in and cycle is started. Going to do the fish less cycle. Now we play the waiting game. In process of setting up the ATO

Well it looks like the cycle is right on track. 0 ammonia .25 nitrite and nitrates are high. So I’m thinking probably end of this week it will be done.

Another update. Looks like the cycle is done. 2 and a half weeks isn’t that bad at all. Seemed like forever but patience is key. Just have to do that 75-90% waterchange. Then I’ll be on the hunt for some corals and fish!
