Influx of a goby!

Not very often I get new fish, corals and creatures are more my thing!
Just settled back down after it's first feed of RS mysis, been in the tank for about 2 hours, I think we could become friends!

Great! But be aware that the shrimp will put sand on any nearby corals tho.

Yeah indeed. Love those pink bar or aurora gobies. Their flaming tail coloration is one of a kind!!

4 little feed tests so far, frozen rs mysis twice, fed well, mysis rs flake fed well, calanus had a few pecks!

Diamond goby is good for that. Pair and sift.

Let me to be more clear on this. Diamond goby is the sifting type that has the highest possibility to form symbiotic relationship with a pistol shrimp, but the success rate is nowhere near shrimp and watchman gobies. Diamond goby can get pretty big, like 4" or so. How big is your tank?

20 gallon i have 1 clown will be buying another clown next week and QTing for 60 days at least. Then was going to add a clown goby, only cause i thought i couldnt get a sifting goby due to my sand

Unless it's a very mature reef, 20g typically doesn't have enough micro nutrient from sand to keep a diamond goby for long. It is easier to get diamond goby to take prepared food. If you must get one, look for one that's small like 2" or so.

We have 2 in our 125 g and our sand is pretty fine. We try to sift out the bigger particles with a small cat litter scoop every couple months. They are great for keeping our sand clean though and very entertaining to watch.

I have a diamond goby that's probably 7 inches long. He will eat entire cubes of frozen mysis before they even defrost in the water. He get sand all of everything and makes giant piles of sand and clears large areas all the way to the glass. We have a love hate relationship

Only 2 months old, ill get the clown go by
