Info on shipwreck in coral tank

So I'm setting up a new Fluval evo nano 13 that will be mainly fish with a couple (2/3) corals on stock lighting for now. I'm debating putting in a small 2 piece shipwreck with Stern kinda vertical against live rock and the bow being on sand somewhere.

All in all I hear some people mention decor is bad and I get some concerns (leaching mainly) but is there evidence on it being bad at all, cuz I can't find any just opinions no facts? Is there a place to buy wood or another material that would be safer?

I really like this idea with the tank sitting on a Jack Daniel's barrel. Any help would be much appreciated. I just realized, would it take to much room in a small tank away from live rock?

If they are aquarium ornaments I wouldn't worry about it. I think people say they are bad because it's cheesy. But your tank your way.

Thanks, hope it's not bad looking. Saw a post on here where someone has a broken up plane and the reef has taken it over. Looks good and k8nda what I want, might even do something else. I saw just semi worried about decor in tank and looking for evidence against it in case.

Fake wood (the ceramic/resin stuff or whatever the aquarium decor is made of) would be fine as long as it isn’t made with toxic chemicals.
Real wood, however, would leach tannins and other chemicals into the water that aren’t so good for a reef tank.

If they decorations are made for saltwater, then do what you like. If they do not say or are labeled for freshwater only, then steer clear, of course.
