Info overload concerning sodium & potassium nitrate??

As stated iv'e read too much info ! All I want is to make a stock solution of either for dosing in 2 tanks.
I gather that a 1tbls of sodium No3 to 2 cups of water is OK. this is the same as stump remover.
can't find a ratio for Potassium No3.
Can I make a 1tbls of potassium No3 using the same ratio 1tbls to 2 cups ?
So I can get either easy enough. Mr Randy says the sodium is a little better
The planted tank calc only tells you how much needed for so many gls to raise to this point.
I'm most likely making too much of this but I constantly keep screwing up & making things worse! Thanks

I surely must be over thinking this. I will just do the 1 tbls to 2 cups , dose a little & see.

If using sodium nitrate, you can use this calculator for potassium nitrate, and just use 84% of the stated amount (so if it says use 1 gram of potassium nitrate, use 0.84 grams of sodium nitrate).

Thanks for the reply, I must be missing something. Let me go back & see if I can make sense of it
I just want to make a stock solution. i assume I can add as little or as much as I want then dose a little & test to see how much it comes up.
once again I'm overthinking it. Most likely under thinking it !

Yes, it let's you pick a stock solution.

If you don't have a scale, we'll use teaspoons.

Enter potassium nitrate.
Enter 11.9 teaspoons
Enter 1000 mL for amount of water to mix with

Then, when actually making it, i said use 84%, and 84% of 1.19 is 10.0 teaspoons, so use 10 level teaspoons

with the default at the top reading 100 liters, then if you add 1 mL of this solution to the tank, you get the calculated value of
0.44 ppm nitrate

Adjust to the top line (tank volume) to fit your total water volume to see how that 1 mL added impacts your actual tank
