I have a large 10" fathom skimmer on my system. what would be better more water flow through the skimmer or more air volume? I have a large pump on the system so I can flow through as much volume of water but the thought was if I slowed the flow it would pick up more particulate.

It's not particulate that you a skimming, it's dissolved organics, proteins. That is done with fractioning, tiny bubbles, foam. The more air the better. The problem is I had a fathom and it was very hard to get it to run efficiently at all. Try a pump with a needle impeller if possible. Good luck.

Yes I understand just playing a bit. Seems like when you hit a sweet spot you can always pick up the bonus junk. I kind of answered my own question I choked down the flow for a few hours and ya not good. I have had good luck with it so far. I run the system off a 1 hp pump so I have plenty of presure behind the injectors. There is 950 gallons in the system so I went with the injection just because the cost of a pinwheel that size was scary
