Injured Clown Fish

My clowns have always harassed my Flame Hawkfish ever since I got him. They battle daily but nothing too out of hand. I noticed about 2 days a go that my momma clown looks like she sustained some type of injury to her mouth. (Couldn't snag a pic as she coveniently turns every time I try to take a pic of that side) Question is, should I treat? or leave alone? because it doesn't seem like it's bothering her? And is there something for wound treatment?

It's hard to tell without a detailed description of the injury or at least a picture. How bad is it? Is it red or look infected? You can treat with these meds to help heal the wound.
Malachite Green/Methylene Blue: Treats ammonia burn, cuts, injuries.

How To Treat - Comes in both liquid and powder form, sometimes mixed in with another medication(s). So, follow the directions on the label. Best used as a 30 minute bath solution, but you also can treat with it in a quarantine tank. Aerate heavily. If you are using it in a bath solution, then it is also a good idea to treat the fish with nitrofurazone (active ingredient found in Furan-2 and Nitrofuracin Green Powder) once he is returned to the quarantine tank. Nitrofurazone is great for treating open wounds or sores.

Pros - Highly effective.

Cons/Side Effects - Depletes oxygen from the water. Malachite Green is considered “harsher” on fish than Methylene Blue.

Depending on how bad the injury is, you can treat with this then watch for infection. Feed healthy food options with vitamin supplements added like Selcon or Vitachem to boost the immune system.

Thanks for the info, the wound kinda looks like a red bump on the side of its mouth, I snagged a video so hopefully I can post it later. Any thoughts on Melafix? I used to use it on my Cichlids.

If it's just a minor cut/infection, then Melafix might be useful for boosting the immune system. Soaking her food with "fish vitamins" (exs. Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) would accomplish the same.

Do you know why they attack the Flame Hawk? Does he perch too close to their nem? If there are eggs nearby, he might be after those which would explain why the clowns are so irritated by his presence.

They've attacked the Hawkfish ever since I put him in the tank. I don't have a nem for them but they usually hang out by a toadstool leather I have on the left side of my tank. Everytime the hawkfish passes by, they get into a skirmish. I think they just don't like his face lol.

2 ocellaris clowns, (my profile pic), those are my OG's, the 1st saltwater fish I got so I can't get rid of them. The Hawkfish I got from my local petco about 3 months ago & he was supposed to be $50 but the guy that sold me him gave me a discount ($30) because he was sitting in the store for months, said he was aggressive, but it looks to me like the clowns are the aggressors.

Hawkfish aren't usually aggressive per se (except to inverts), but they also aren't known for taking any crap. Especially from a pair of ocellaris. You sure the hawkfish isn't hurt or sick?

Seems fine to me, no markings on the body, and eats like a beast. He moves around well and uses a finger leather as his personal recliner, lol. I think their just like people, some people just don't like others for no reason at all.
