My melanarus wrasse seems to have injured his mouth. I have read similar reports like this here on R2R so I guess its not all that unusual.
Last night I noticed his mouth open and kind of sluggish, slightly erratic swimming with frequent breaks during which he would rest briefly on a rock or the bottom. Today his swimming is a little better (see the video) but his mouth is still open. Usually he eats nori but this morning he didn't show any interest. Most concerning was my male Bellus angel chasing and picking on him last night, which is completely new. There has been no aggression this morning.
Another unusual thing....he has buried 2 or 3 times since yesterday. That alone isn't all that strange; what is strange is that sand is sticking to his snout each time like maybe there is extra mucous there or something.
My plan is to just leave him alone unless I see more aggressive behavior or if there is something I can actually do for him.
Thoughts?
