About a month or so ago this guy started retracting, and I thought it might have been some water parameters but today I checked him out and he looks hurt.... any idea what this could be? Is he splitting, was he bitten by crabs, or something else? Shame.. he was massive. I attached a before pic and after pics. The 1st after pic is blurry but gives you an idea. The damage is around his mouth...

Do you spot feed it? If so, do you have crabs or shrimp? They are known to steal food and may have damaged it doing so.

Oh that's a very interesting point.... I do spot feed it... if it didn't eat it all (because it was already not well), the crabs may have come over and taken more than just food.

Sucks :( I think it might be too far gone. Is there anything I can do at this point or do I just leave it and see what happens?

Some reefers try iodine dips to save them like Lugol's solution.
