So my potter's angel has this mark on his side. When introduced to the tank my Tomeni tang would not leave him alone. I finally got the tang to leave the angel alone but I just noticed this today and the angel isn't eating and it was eating like crazy the first 2 days. This is day 3 in the tank. Any suggestions?

This is a better picture, the first one looked better before I uploaded it. It's the red mark on the side. It looks like there might be some scale damage but it's hard to get a clear picture of it.

It almost looks like he bumped into something, a sharp rock maybe

Or was hit by the tang's barb. Either way, looks like it is getting infected. You can food soak vitamins or antibiotics to help with the infection. However, placing him in QT and dosing antibiotics would be a more effective treatment.

Well I moved it to QT and it didn't make it. I feel terrible. I didn't notice anything off yesterday and just happened to see it acting strange today.

I'm sorry to hear that, though not surprised. Infections can be more deadly than velvet in some cases. Gram negative bacterial infections can move very quickly and kill in hours in some cases. They can be difficult to treat for since you have to catch it almost at onset to have any real chance. At least you tried sweetie.

Sorry for your loss :(

If just moving him to QT killed him, he wasn't going to last much longer in your DT.

if it still eating then i wouldn't move them since u might stress the fish out and get worse. they usually fight through if they still eating
