Unless I'm missing something, is there no way to turn off the audible alarm from the InkBird phone app?

I'm really hoping that in the future there will be a way to disable - turn off the alarm in the app.

If you dont care for the alarm just set the maximum and minimum "High/low temperature alarm values" (AH/AL) to something that the water should never reach in the app - Then it will never kick in - That wont have any effect on the temperature of the water.

Yes, there is a way to turn the alarm off. See attached pictures

Same here - running InkBird Pro Version 3.3.1.4 and there's no option to Alarm Sound option for 'off'

Same here -- InkBird Pro -- no alarm sound off option.

Really just wanted to ask:
Does the "Offline Notification" work for anyone?
Doesn't for me when I tested even though all other notifications do work.
...sorry for the hijack but it bugs me and I couldn't find any info anywhere

If you got no option to disable the alarm, here is what I suggest for you.

Keep parameters on the app as tight as you need so that the alarm IS enabled when needed.

Now that you know the alarm is ringing, go into the app, change the parameters that trigger the alarm. For instance, if for some reason the heater in my mixing bin gives out and suddenly I dump 60 degree water into my sump, my alarm is going to sound until I bring it up to temp. What I do then is set the alarm to ring at 55 degrees instead of 60. It turns off for the time being. Just make sure to set an alarm on your phone to remind you to adjust the parameters to their original point when all is said and done.

What app are you using and what is the version number of it. Not all of their apps/ versions have the same options. Here are pics of my settings that I just took.

I have the same version. However, it doesn't work. I know that because the probe is not working and temperature readings are all over the place. They asked me to cut the cable to the probe, connect the new one, and isolate it with electrical tape :face-with-open-mouth: . Well, I have some suggestions for improvements, but I will keep them to myself

I have a lot of InkBird equipment including 3 aquarium temp controllers and all of them have worked fine for me. Depending on your level of comfort with diy, cutting the temp probe off and reconnecting a new one doesn’t seem like that big of a deal if done close to the controller so it doesn’t have a possibility of being submerged in water.

No, it is not a big deal at all. I just thought if they made the probe exchangeable, it would be easier for the user and reduce their SKU. They sell the same model with a different sensor for everything but the aquarium. BTW: I like their product as well. I have five of these devices.

They do have at least one model that has the probe that plugs in and easily changeable.

I personally never got that one because I’d rather have a probe that can’t be unplugged. I could see myself working under my stand and somehow accidentally unplugging it. I once accidentally pulled my probe out of the water, but luckily it was a model with 2 probes so it gave me an error because there was too much of a temp difference between the two probes.

What kind of temp probe could you buy? and where?

I’ve never had to replace a temp probe on my controllers so I have no experience with it. I was just replying that for a diy’er replacing a probe on a controller that has a bad probe shouldn’t be a big deal.
You can buy replacement probes on Amazon from the InkBird store though.

Thank you.
I don’t have trouble with my Inkbird but I am courios about the replacement of the temp probe because it could be necessary.

Thanks for sharing. I never saw this type of connection when I purchased my devices.
