please clarify the temperature setup with an apex....the outlet on the EB8 needs to be on for the inkbird to be powered so what temps should I set on the apex and the inkbird..I live in florida so my tank runs 78/night-81.5 day,,,dont want it to go less than 78

Are you only using a heater or also some type of cooling?

Set the inkbird parameters to turn on at 78 degrees and off at 79/80 degrees or whatever you want. Then set the APEX to turn on at 77/77.5 degrees and off at 80/81 degrees. The APEX is used as a fail safe. Just make sure that the calibration is the same or very close. If not then you will need to veer off these numbers to suit the calibration.

I would use the inkbird to control the heater. Then set the apex to turn off the inkbird in the instance there is a failure. For example, too high of temp or too low of temp (apex temp probe fails)

My set up:

Apex On:79F Off80.3F

Inkbird: On 25.8C (78.44F) , set to 0.1C increments. Using C gives control at 0.1, although my tank still fluctuates from 78F to 79F daily but I am fine with that.

This set up works well and dont worry about the temp at all which is nice!
