I am setting up my inkbird controller itc 306a, I want to use it as a fail safe, letting the heater do it’s thing and for the controller to step in if the temp were to go too high, but I can’t do this as there is a setting called ‘continuous heating’’ which turns the heater off if the temp that is set on the controller is not reached within 1-72 hours, so I have to set the controller to the required tank temp and not just slightly over that as I would want, so in effect this cuts out the fail safe as I no longer have the controller acting as the fail safe but the only control on the heating.

Does anyone know if I’m missing something here or is this the only way I can use the inkbird?

As far as i understand you should be able to set your desired temp high and your reaction temp low, the heater should stay on but be set low to never heat to that point.

The continuous heating function works on the high setting not the low setting, so if the high temp is not reached within the chosen setting of 1-72 hours then the heater is turned off, I’m not sure if I’m understanding you, if you were saying something different?
