Inkbird greenhouse on my reef

So I got bored and was sorting through old stuff and found this inkbird greenhouse controller. I noticed that there's an aquarium version too but would it be safe to put the temperature probe inside the reef? Thanks

The probe on that model is not designed for continuous underwater submersion. There are guides about sealing it using heat shrink and silicone, but being that they're only $35, I'd just buy the correct one. Especially since it's a vital piece of life support that can kill your entire tank if it fails.

I have cling wrap over it atm. I'll order the other one but do you think this'll be enough
