Thinking of getting one but the reviews on BRS are really bad. Are these controllers that bad?

I love mine. I have two of them. I have been using one for 2 years with no issues. The newer one has been installed for a few months

I have this controller, running 2 years ish now, needs 2.4 WiFi to work but really happy with the interface.
The dual plastic coated probes work so well together, both checking temps and comparing and if out, it shuts the heaters down. Dual redundancy!
Great charting of temp measures every 15 minutes.
Like it, trust it, sends notifications

I was going to use them for controller and apex for redundancy. Where do you all put the probes?

Sump where waters are returned from DT, but before heaters by 6”. So the measure is largely of waters coming from the DT, not what’s going back.
Just an inch apart.
You can’t have too much redundancy so with the Apex as well, even better.
I use the heaters themselves as second redundancy so if the Inkbird ever fails on, the heaters can’t heat past 81.0 in my tank.

My tank has the heaters in the sump and my temp probes are near the overflow wier in display.
