Wanted to give a quick review for the Inkbird wifi temperature controller. If your like me and don't want to break the bank on an aquarium controller this little device might be for you. We all know heaters in this hobby are not to be trusted. There are many horror story's about people losing everything in their tank due to a heater malfunctioning. I knew I wanted to get a controller but debated on picking up one of the cheaper aquarium controllers or the Inkbird. In the end the wifi capability of the Inkbird won out. The cheaper aquarium controllers do not have wifi, meaning you must be home to know if there is an issue. I have been using the Inkbird for around six weeks and I have been extremely pleased with it. It was calibrated correctly out of the box but if there ever is an issue you can calibrate it. You set-up and control the unit via an app that can be downloaded in the apple App Store. The app is very straightforward and walks you through the steps to set up the unit. Once set up you just set the min/max for your heater and let it go to work. The best part is you can view your tanks temperature anywhere you have a connection. The bad part is there is no warning on the app if the tank temperature is out of range, you just have to manually check the app a couple times a day to insure things are all good. I only encounter one problem since using the controller. The app crashed one day so I could not check my temperature for about half a day. No worries because the controller still worked as it should even though the app crashed. On that note I should mention you can control the unit without the app via the buttons and screen on the controller. Overall I would recommend this to anyone in need of a temperature controller but doesn't want to spend a lot of money to be able to monitor on the go.
