Inland Empire Petco

For the SoCal peeps in the inland empire, the Fontana Petco on Sierra had a pretty nice assortment of fish and anemones. The tanks looked pretty clean and I know some of the fish have been there several months and looking healthy. They had striped blennies, hawkfish, file fish dottybacks and of course lots of clowns. I picked up 2 tuxedo urchins but everything looked pretty healthy there with no visible ich.

PetCo gets a bad rap on here a lot but each store is different.
FWIW, when I started a little over a year ago, I bought everything from PetCo in Murrieta, CA and never have any problems. (No experience with the Fontana one)

I don't anymore but that's mainly because I found a nicer LFS not too much farther away from me.

I never really buy stuff there but the employee that handles the salt section is a nice young lady well versed with reef tanks and it is obvious that they are making a concerted effort to improve quality there. They have a good selection of frozen food and a lot of different reef tank products mainly seachem and brightwell. I picked up the tuxedo urchins which was cool so I did not have to order and ship them from some vendor. The fangtooth blenny I got from the 2 months back is great. He strikes food floating on the surface like a viper. Great community fish too, they had 4 nice ones left.

When we lived in MoVal, that one wasn't bad either. Up here,I got a blue and gold banded coral shrimp for $15 bucks. The tank tag said CBB, was the only one they had... hit or miss here though.

The sales person at the Fontana Petco said they carried the most in the saltwater section of the entire Inland Empire Petco. I asked which was the largest in LA County or ORange County but he did not know.

I was there today fontana one and everything looked healthy and fat. I totally going setup a qt soon . they have a nice selection of saltwater fish

Yea I've continued to be impressed by their effort there.
