so I have a dinner mag drive 9.5 pump that I use to transfer water or do water changes. I have a large garbage can on wheels and then use the pump to transfer water. anyway, I got it caught in a doorway and it chewed up the cord about 2 feet from the plugged end. I was thinking to try and put some kind of on/off switch inline instead of just splicing the cord back together. even better if I can get it to be water resistant or water proof. that way I can just use the switch to turn the pump on and off instead of pulling it out of the socket the moment I want it to stop, or stop carrying a power strip around with it. anyway, I tried to put in a circuit breaker, but that only worked for a little while and it then wouldn't reset anymore. the directions say not to use as a switch, so I guess they're not very resilient. all the other in line switches I see are like for lamps. not very water resistant or high amperage looking for the power that I may need for this pump. anybody have any ideas???? it shouldn't be that difficult I would think but.....
