Is there a reason why it is so difficult to find opinions on this tank or why people don't have it? I see very limited reviews on it online and am looking to get one, but I would like to see opinions on it first. Why does BRS carry other IM tanks but not this one? Thoughts?

I believe @samnaz (You can check out her build thread from her profile) has one, there are a few users here who do. The issue with finding a ton of reviews on them is that most people looking for smaller nano tanks, prefer the AIO setup. Also a lot of people looking at these sized tanks are usually talked into slightly larger ones. Although I will admit, going with a sump on my nano was the best decision I ever made and I'd never suggest not doing it.

These tanks have only been on the market for just over a year now as well so still young. Personally I really love these tanks as they provide SO much more than the usual nanos do. IM tanks are fantastic and you won't be disappointed, keep in mind you will need a stand and sump as well as some basic plumbing as the tanks don't come with everything. Other than that, they are beautiful tanks and especially in the case of the 30L EXT give you an excellent opportunity for Aqua scaping that most smaller tanks do not provide.

As to why BRS does not have them, that I am not sure, maybe @Bulk Reef Supply might be able to chime in on that...

I almost bought the same tank. I still want one. I had a hard time finding one earlier this year. As far as why it's not popular.. I think its because the depth is kinda short.

Thanks for the in-depth response! I currently have a tank on a stand that is pretty much the same dimensions, but it's an AIO. I work at a fish store and have all of the knowledge for plumbing, sumps, etc. I was just curious as to why there is hardly ANY info on them! I'm ready to move to a sump... I'm tired of the limited space I have to work with in my AIO.

I don’t :-)

I have the Nuvo Black which is essentially just a rimless tank which I drilled and installed a modular marine overflow. I love the setup and recommend it but I don’t think innovative marine even makes them anymore.

Most of the 30Ls on here are the aio version but if you search 30L ext you’ll find a few build threads.

I’m thinking of buying the 30l aio and taking out the filter then drilling holes for an external overflow. I don’t like the position of the ext and the black series is no longer for sale!!

Just curious what you meant by position on the EXT? You mean the overflow? Seems like an awful waste of space to drill the AIO version...

By position I mean where the overflow is and where the return hole is... the nuvo 30aio is on sale rn and is cheaper than the ext .. although u have to buy an overflow I think to have two returns on each side with the overflow positioned in the center is ideal for me.

forgot to tag u .

Another option for yourself could be a Mr. Aqua 22 Long, slightly smaller width wise but not by much and with an external overflow and plumbing you're still probably cheaper than the Nuvo 30 AIO...

I will add that stripping the AIO section out while possible would be a project I would never want to attempt. You're looking at MANY hours of careful, tedious work taking apart the AIO.

I do want atleast a 30 gallon and love the dimensions on the 30l .. .

Youre scarying me tho... HAHA. do you really think it'll be hard to take it out.. i thought it'd be a quick job, under 2 hours, with a heat gun and couple razors

Well I'll put it to you this way, I LOVE modifying things, and I wouldn't do it. The AIO section is actually made of glass baffles. The wall of the AIO section at the back of the tank is also glass with an acrylic sheet siliconed to it.... that's a lot of VERY careful razoring and patience to cut it all out without damaging the seals on the tank itself.
