Yes this is the one I have.
This would work. You could leave the back open for wires and ventilation.

You can definitely cut it down 6". You will need to drill new holes on the peice 4 peices that you cut for the clamps to lock into. You will also need to cut the side panel insert to fit the smaller size. Any decent saw should work. I used a standard circular saw to cut the panels down. Drilling the new holes for the clamps will require some precision. Use the other side panel to make your left and right sides.

I only suggested the other stand because it was so close to your tank size and required minimal diy.

Hey Sean

Really nice work and it looks very clean. I have a 100 ext IM tank and want to put a canopy. The dimensions are 47.3 x 23.6

Do you think this method can work for these dimensions?? 1

Unfortunately I don't think you could do it on the 100ext; mainly do to the 47.3 width. IM doesn't currently off any stands that could be easily converted to fit that size.
If you are pretty handy and like a DIY challenge then you could still do it with by cutting a larger stand down to fit but the large stands get pretty expensive pretty fast.

I would lean to an 80/20 creation at that point. There are some good threads on here with tips and examples of the 80/20 stuff. Here is one:
