I would like to write a short review on the Custom Cradle:
(Normally i would write a lengthy review - but this is a simple piece of equipment).
The product came in a box in a box packaging slick looking inside.
The Custom Cradle is a 3 piece product consisting of a Cradle, Cradle magnetic locking bar and outside magnet.
The Custom Cradle is easy to use - insert up to 3 probes and 2 small feeding tubes for chemicals etc.
Attach the locking bar - by positing it over the open area and the magnets snap it into place.
Then position it in your tank and use the outer magnet to hold it in place... sound simple right ?
Well - not so fast !!!!!
st the locking bar is slick works as designed but if you try to get it into a small place it can open and fall in the back of your Innovative Marine all in one - ( I know it happen twice while trying to position it - the magnets need to be a little stronger as the slightest probe tweak opens the locking bar.
Second the rear magnet that holds it on the glass - I have the Innovative Marine 40 - so you would think the magnet would be at least that strong to hold well as it's made for any application - but at least on one of their flag ship tanks - the magnet is weak and does not hold on well. It works but needs to be a little stronger as well, on thicker glass you can forget it - My mag-floats magnets work much better and this product should of had the same strength as well.
I was really hot to get this product the minute I read about it on one of the product sites and grabbed it as soon as it was released.... hopefully they will take this review and rework this product - at the costs they are charging - they could increase the magnet strength and give us a worthy product. One note - it was actually made with the InTank logos on the box.
In closing: Great idea - Fail on design integrity.
Note: there is a larger version - I would assume works the same as it only adds another probe and tube line.
I am sure if you are placing this in a sump - your experience will be much better.
