I'll try to takeaway few shots tomorrow. I just run the stock pump, Ehiem heater, IM media baskets for each chamber,filter floss,purigen,chemipure blue and Marine Pure ceramic spheres. No skimmer. Lit by two Kessil A160's

innovative marine skimmer ( the skimmer was a nightmare!) stock return pump. Ecotech mp10qd and radion g3 with reef link.

I have the socks, skimmer and i run a fluval 306 as a media reactor with carbon, purigen, matrix. Its lit by 2 ai prime hd.

Here are a few pics of my 30L. Just a 5 gal WC every two weeks with Red Sea ProCorals salt. No dosing. AutoAqua Smart Micro ATO used with Trigger 5gal reservoir. No Skimmer.

Whats the issues with skimmers? I have one and zero issues but would like to know what to look for

I have one that is coming up on two months old...
On one side i have intank media basket (filter floss, purigen and chemipure blue) then the next chamber has several bags of live rock chunks. Other side is an intank filter floss holder followed by IM ghost skimmer. Doing 5 gallon water changes every two wks.
Lighting is current orbit marine pro IC and an eflux 660 wavepump

Here is what I have in the back R to left
Filter sock.
Minimax ( I think it's the mid size)
Centre chamber . Marine pure ( balls) with a small Hydor Koralia power head to keep circulation in the back chamber and avoid detritus)
Cadlights pipe less skimmer
Filter sock.

I️ have a complete IM30L for sale. Had it up and running for 2 years with no issues. I️ shut it down about 4 weeks ago as we are moving to another state. I️ would highly recommend it for a beginner. I’m going bigger in our new home and if I️ don’t sell it I️ May keep it for a coral qt tanks and fish observation tank.

I had their older skimmer. The black and clear one “ aqua gadget “ it would overflow constantly and was impossible to tune.

I️ have read the ghost skimmers are hit or miss. Mine worked great without any issues?

Sorry, I️ see you had the black one. I️ had the white one and had no issues with it.

Ya the skimmer was the only item I disliked. The 30l is an awesome tank! In all honesty you could run this tank with just water changes and no skimming. At least that’s what I would do if I had to do another 30l
