Hi, I've been away from reefing for a while and I'm thinking of purchasing a new aquarium. I have a question about the NUVO ext 100 aquarium. How strong is the stand? When I was in the hobby, I had to build a new stand for my aquarium when the stand it came with started to fail. Is it worth it to purchase the stand or build one myself?

I think most people with their tanks are also using their stands. I don't have any personal experience, so I'm not much help, but I'll bump this up for input

I have the Nuvo 40 AIO and the included stand. As with many, I am very leery of the particle board stands. However, the stands that are now standard with IM tanks are extrude aluminum. They have both the luxury of being light weight and very strong. While my 40 doesn't weigh much in regards to the Nuvo 100 ext, the design and material of the new stands is very impressive.
The Nuvo 100 ext or int is on my short list for my next tank, mainly because of the stand. Though in another thread Waterbox has also mentioned that they will be introducing an aluminum stand later this year.
BTW, I also price out building my own extruded aluminum stand vs buying and the cost was almost the same.
