The aluminum is plenty strong for the stand, just not thick enough to drill & tap or use a self threaded screw.
You need to fill the space. Nothing better than a length of wood.
This allows you to use hangers or clamps held into the top support beam for whatever you need.
You will need something almost 7/8" thick IIRC.
Sorry - no photo.
Thank you I think I understand. How did you attach the wood, just drilled through the aluminum? Ours is still sitting in the box waiting to be assembled

If you get there stands get the up grade shelf prior to setting it up.

In the back of a IM stand the panels are about 1/8" of an inch, once you get the stand you can disassemble it and see exactly how think, but in a piece about 12" tall. See, Look at your phone in vertical, place three fingers on the top, that is where that board goes. This will allow the plumbing to go into the sump, or at least some of their tanks. Do all of this prior to putting water in the tank.

I’ve had two IM tanks. A 30l Nuvo Pro and my current SR. Great tanks. Almost went with the 15 gallon Nuvo but wanted slightly more space for nano I was setting up. Here’s the SR60

I think the tanks are awesome, but not a huge fan of their new stands. While the aluminum is the way to go, the look of the cabinet itself doesn't look as clean as the other big players out there.

I just placed a length inside the top piece & secured it close to the ends with screws.
3/4" wide is a sloppy fit but I don't have a table saw to rip a wider piece.
The white stand is a gloss finish & looks good in the room.

Have had the IM 40l set up for about 3 months. Could not be happier.

J has a 30gal Long, M has a 14gal Peninsula and we run 3 vintage 7gal IM cubes in the warehouse.
Love our IMs! Solid tanks and good looking.

Very happy with my IM 100gal EXT. Have had a lot of tanks the last 17yrs and this is probably the best tank I've owned.

Not the best stand I've owned but it's still a good stand.

I’m currently building a 200 INT, along with their RFS 50 sump. I’d call it extremely high quality. I couldn’t be happier.

IM is awesome. Their AIO tanks seem to be really popular. I love my tank, love the stand. My first one arrived broken and they sent another one straight away, easy peasy, and kept me posted and up-to-date on the whole process (which was fast).

Honestly couldn't be more pleased with IM. Chances are I'll get another when I upgrade.

Can't see the contents, but the stand and actual tank look nice.

I've had my IM 40L AIO setup for almost a year now and am very happy with it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another IM tank if I upgrade to something larger at some point.

The AIO 15g tank is one of the best values in the hobby for the quality of tank.

I had a waterbox 100.3, nice tank. I swapped it out for IM150 ext and it’s far nicer. Better quality all around. WB are nice and I would own one again, just it wasn’t as nice as the IM.

Same tank for me, 75 ext. couldn’t be happier with the quality of it.
