No harm to your inverts or herbivores? So many report stuff dying that I've been chickening out from trying it.
none at all but dosed much less than recommend, also overdosed before and upset some corals(birdsnest in particular) with no casualties including acropora with cleaner shrimp and emerald crabs in tank. ymmv

Ok, really lost here, not a clue what is happening.

Corals are great, tank is two years old, water testing shows that all major parameters are spot on, but i have problems with dirty glass.

After cleaning with tunze magnet, in some 15-20 minutes after, there is already slightly cloudiness on glass, after a hour or two, it get greenish tint, if i leave it until tomorrow, it gets very dirty, with green and red shade.

So, i need to clean glass at least 3 times per day, of course i dont do it, but....

What is going on, what causes such rapid "growth" on glass?
Nee aquarium, right?

You are probably dealing with motile algae not fast growing algae. When you scrape the glass, they swim into the water column and then resettle.

Not so new, 2 year......

Only difference is heavier phyto dosing, and i took offline my uv..... Maybe that?

Makes sense, only thing is that this glass issue appeared few days ago, and my uv is off line for over a month.

Maybe is connected, but source of problem is probably something else.....

I had this as well.. straight up bought a hanging uv sterilizer and a cheapy pump and put it directly in the display.. less than 48 hrs later the water was crystal

I connected uv back on, so i will see.....

Maybe bad batch of phyto causes some major increase in nutrients

This is all true, but, this is not my first rodeo... ;)

It all comes down to phyto, maybe i did dose bit (a lot) more...

Ok, i forgot to say, this stuff is dusty, clouds water when i clean glass.

And pics, this is 24h growth....
I dose a lot of Phyto... Tet and Iso, never had an issue. I am 99% sure it is not Phyto. I keep my Phyto cultures in glass bottles and I never have had anything resembling a film on the glass. The green/redish color would lead me to believe it is a cyano/bacteria issue. If it was an algae it would not show up so fast. Your tank is in an imbalance state and this is the result of that. Measure your Nitrate and Phosphate use over a week, see if you use one more than another. What are you putting in vs. what is going out. Also are you using a UV filter?
You just need to find the imbalance and correct for those.
Then feed some flake in the mornings and Aminos in the afternoons and your problem will go away... <--- This is the solution you want to hear and it may work but you have to find out what is going on with your tank first.

Sorry, didn’t get this far before I replied. Nothing happens fast in a reef aquarium, so when you took it off line this maybe the partial resulting affect. UV's can be either a band-aid or a tool for your tank. Since you are bringing it back online, if it works, then your next challenge will be why it worked.

Ok, i put back uv online, few days later, everyrhing is great. Glass is clean, even the dirty spots that i left uncleaned is getting lighter and cleaner.

Not sure why, what, but, problem solved, at least appear that way
