I have some do it in some tanks and others not ever do it. I only have this issue in my young tanks that are not fully established. In my experience that means they aren’t super happy. The others looks fairly closed up as well. How are your nitrates? Have they been in there a long time?
Lights had just turned on. Now its normal. The tank had been setup for two years and i moved 2 months ago. The nems were not very happy after the move but seem better but they are balling up a lot more frequently than they used to. Nitrates are around 8 which is what i was aiming for. They used to be near zero at the previous location but i replaced my 5 ft sump with huge fuge with a much smaller one.
Yea I like to give them a little nitrates 8 is spot on. Idk man, they are sensitive to elements far beyond the standard things we test for. I am having icp testing done on all my tanks to try and figure out what causes these differences.
Mine breed in one tank, and split in the other two. One thing I have found very true with BTA’s is they certainly do not like alkalinity being dosed at once. If you need to dose alk it’s best to do it extremely slowly.
