Hello,

I was using a new fancy glass cleaner that is quite popular and i was told it cant scratch the glass. Replaced the blades with new ones and when i tell you it scratched the bajeesus out of my glass. My tank is loaded with coral and fish. So sad….. scratches everywhere… granted they are very fine scratches but now it’s all i can see …

Please there has to be a solution to this that doesn’t involve breaking my tank down. I contacted the company and they are not providing any solutions.

Any one have any magical ideas???

Thanks in advance!

Glass distorts when sanded/polished and you end up with not so clear glass. Its like wearing prescription glasses without needing them.Nothing you can do about it.
I find fine sand is the biggest problem with glass and scratches, some particles could have gotten trapped under your blade. Gotta be super carefull cleaning glass.

If they aren’t too deep and you can drain the water to the level of the scratch, you can use wet sand paper and then polish them with 50/50 mix of baking soda and water. For deeper ones you can still polish the edges and make them less visible. There are many tutorials if you search google. People use the technique for windshields, wrist watch glass, car headlights, glasses and other things, so don’t limit your search to aquariums.

Good to know! What grit would you use?
