Im thinking of getting a large tank, maybe 160-200 gallons.
How the heck are people installing the tank onto the stands and getting these through the doors of the house? I had a hard enough time with the 45gallon AIO let alone a tank that might weigh 300-500lbs!
Do you just grab a butt load of people to help or did you use a special equipment handler or something? I dont have access to tons of strong people near me, most of my neighbors are older or not well enough to tackle lifting this thing.
Looking for ideas!

3 strong guys plus myself, 468lbs tank, 100 feet from street, up seven steps, to living room. Took less than 5 minutes.
Each got $100 bucks. Done.

Those flat dollys are my best friend when it comes to moving my 120g

160-200 will be less then 32-36 inches wide. That’s the width of most front doors. I use my truck then I slide the tank off the bed and guide one side down to the ground, then I grab the side still on the truck bed and guide that down, never do I hold the full weight of the tank. Then once on the ground I simply lift one end a few inches and slide the first dolly under, repeat for other side and we’re rolling. I repeat the same steps in reverse to get it on the stand. I took pictures towards the end of my build thread that will give you a better idea.

That might be well and all for your used tank but I dont want to risk a brand new tank being slid off a truck and placed on two dollys. I want that bottom fully supported.
I guess ill just ask some local reefers if they can help for a minute ill buy a pizza or something.

Local reef clubs are good for, as are having friends but there's always some help to be found near a trailer park or home depot.

I got 6 family and friends to move my 320 gallon 8ft tank. We walked 100yrds with it and right through the front door. All glass tank and very heavy but easy to do.

I use cellophane and cardboard corners for moving my mom’s rimless tank, to create the same rim protection and stability. Not for the faint of heart, and not the obvious choice. But ask and you shall receive here haha

these are what we use for moving glass working for commercial glazing co. Big Tank movers should have some handy. They make a plastic housing version for half the price and if your short on hands these are life savers.

I use a custom built scissor cart that handles a ton but you probably can find a smaller one for the weight you're dealing with. Do a search for "hydraulic cart lift"
