I have a 32g coralife biocube. I received the "Tunze USA 9004.000 Doc Skimmer for Aquariums, 15 to 65-Gallon" today. I tried putting it in the back middle section, as that is the only place it will really fit. But a few things. 1) It got stuck in there (very difficult to take out) 2) it was facing sideways just to fit it in and 3) The waterflow was not high enough (see photos). Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the skimmer in the middle chamber ? Purdon me, but I am not able to spot it. I can only see a eheim jaeger heater on the first chamber.

It was, but I pulled it out. The water flow was not even close to where it should have been. And I am not sure if it was suppose to be installed sideways, or if it should be front-facing. But that was the only way it would even fit in there.

I believe I have read about people using them in the 32 however I think trimming of the plastic frame is required for a proper fit.

So maybe I should just invest in a HOB one?

I personally would never do a HOB skimmer to much risk of them overflowing onto the floor.. I would just find one that fits or just use the cheap little Biocube skimmer that’s made for it, they work ok for what they are and that’s what I use in my overstocked Biocube
