Installed a wave maker, not sure how I feel about it

I got a Hydor Wave Maker for Christmas and i installed it yesterday. I didn't change the position of the pumps. Before the one on the left was on continuously and the right one was on at random intervals. The wave maker turns one on, one off every thirty minutes. The flow patterns completely changed and my kenya tree does not seem happy about it. It won't open today. Should I go back to the old way or will the kenya tree get used to it? None of the other corals seem to mind.

Give it time to adapt to the new situation. IMHO, anything you can do to increase the randomness of the flow will be a good thing for your system even if, in the short term, a few things are a bit stressed out.

Besides, Kenya trees are like weeds, the longer you have them the more you won't care...lol. I give Kenya trees away to locals, a branch breaks off and a whole new colony starts. You could probably tie dye them and sell them as designer corals.

I know. I've only had it for a couple months and I already have several new ones on the back side of the rocks. Still a nice coral though.

Random flow is good. I wouldn't worry much about the kenya tree. They can survive anything
