These require a drill hole to be installed obviously. Should the rubber washer be installed on the wet or dry side? Anything else I can do to ensure they don't leak? I'm installing one at the bottom of each 65g water tank, so I'm worried about when full how much pressure will be applied and if it'll leak. I was considering buying a tap and threading the hole so I can also use thread sealant but looking for tips from others who've installed them. It's also totally possible that I just need to make sure the rubber fitting is tight and all should be good, if that's the case let me know.

Its not going to totally blow out, just tighten it well (not overtightened) and fill her up - if its still leaking give antoher 1/8 turn.

With the injection molding process your first choice of simply adding a rubber gasket on the inside will suffice. I wouldn't worry about excessive pressure ruining the integrity of the seal. If you have it tightened properly then you wont have any problems.

I would also suggest that the hole you drill be just big enough for the sensor to fit through, try not to go much bigger and to ensure that after drilling remove any burrs from the newly drilled hole. That will aid in a nice tight seal.
