Installing lights in canopy

I'm sorry if this has been asked before.


I will be buying a 140 gallon planet aquarium using this 48x24in canopy, which will be 12in lift, but I am not sure how i would mount the lights. I will have 3 hydra 32s, my lfs said to just put the mounting system and screw it directly into the canopy but then my issue is the heat from the fixture.

I've never had anything larger than a 40 gallon tank, so would love any input that someone has to give.


I ask this because the actual tank will have braces on either side about, very similar to Euro Bracing, so i can't just mount on the tank itself.
 

Check out post #609 of this thread. I built my canopy custom, but if you could make cut outs like mine it may solve your issue
 
I've always vented my canopies. You can also cut holes smaller than your LEDs and set the fixtures on top of the canopy.
