So I plan on getting a uv sterilizer if the Dino’s I have are the free floating ones. My 40 breeder doesn’t have a sump, I was looking at the corallife turbo twist 3, how would I set it up without a sump? My other option was the green killing machine from Petco

You’ll need the right wattage for your tank and if it’s not a mounted bulb I think best would be one that has its own pump. I used the one made for IM tanks but without a “sump” you’ll just need a way to move water through it to get exposed.

I would highly recommend snagging against the coralife uv's. They are cheap and have a cheap reflective inside that rusts out in months to a year, which is terrible for a reef tank.

Had 2 turbo twist over about 7 or 8 years each. They will Hang on side or back, with an in tank small powerhead, hose intake and back into the tank with another on the output. Nice units imo, if you get a decade out of them with regular cleaning etc thats good....

Cool. So how’d you place the pump? I know some come with suction cups but wouldn’t they fall if placed on the side? How about gluing a magnet to it or something?

Looks really cool, did you have free floating Dino’s which it killed? Idk if that uv is too small for my tank. They say you need a big one
I didn't have dinos, but had a huge algae bloom in my 40B. Knocked it out in two days.

Call them and ask about the rusting internals..

I have talked to their tech support team. They wouldn't run it on their tanks.

Awesome. Will keep that in mind, what do you think about the aquatop 7w I was recommended above?
