Has anyone used Instant Ocean Bio SPIRA before either to cycle a tank or to use for routine maintenance? If so how did it work or not work for you? Also just curious if any of you have ordered it from Drs Foster and Smith and wondering how they ship it?

Thanks!
I use it all the time last time was on a 200 gallon tank. Never seen ammonia nitrate or nitrite. This was the last time I checked 3 days ago. It's the same every time from day 1 to 5 month's.

I hope his tank has gotten past the initial start up cycle. But by now maybe he needs to dose some nitrates. Seems like a popular thing to do these days....

I have 6 tanks set up. 5 years from 6 gallon fluval edge to 250 gallon. Never had a problem with anything. Bio SPIRA is the best. Dr tims works great to.

Iv used dr Tim's,bio spira, microbe lift and stability none of them worked.just save your money.
amen to dr tims not working, that stuff is still causing me grief, going to have to do a major break down and clean of my tank and i will NEVER use dr tims crap ever again. now as far as seachem stability goes that is all i ever used in the past couple of clowns and a bottle of seachem and i called it a day. these days fish cycling is frowned upon but it is a tried and true method if you are using hardy fish like a pair of clowns.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Dr. Tim originally worked for Instant Ocean and developed Bio spira. He then moved on and created his own One and Only. I'd assume they are probably pretty close in bacterial makeup.

Either way as others have said, they absolutely work.

Post #24 you have common test misreads going on, of course all bottle bac works. Here's ninety pages of proof.

Dr Tims is tops. So is fritz and biospira

Nice necro bump from 2013

Don't feel bad about the test misread issues, it still plagues our hobby to this day. Wanna see a link where for pages people are just certain their cycles are broken, but aren't? Our ability to test reliably for cycling params is still in the dark ages but about five thousand seneye owners can see light at the end
