Instant ocean high parameters

99% sure the salt had high parameters.
My hanna meter was calibrated before test.
Salt was mixed for +24 hours.

I got a new batch of boxes recently(200g boxes). They have those new plastic bags in them. I buy enough for a year or more at a time if it's a decent price, so this is the first time I'm using these "new bags" they have started using.

I'm finding after many years of using IO that it is also mixing higher then normal. And yes I have double and triple checked salinity, as well as my alk, cal, and mag tests.

How high?

1700 ppm magnesium from the OP seems over the top.

Not sure what Hannah checker you're using. The calibrated Hanna HI98319 salinity tester reads my IO salt mix at 1.022-1.023. A calibrated refractometer will report the same solution at 1.026.

This is a known issue with the hanna tester and could explain some elevated parameters.

Is this regular or reef? I use IO regular and I get the same high results. Do you mix your salt up before making a batch of water?

Update: I did the tests yesterday and again today 24 hrs later. I let it mix initially for about an hour while I set the salinity to 1.0264 (35ppt) exactly at 77 deg F. I came up with 408 Ca & 1340 Mg. 24 hrs later I got 406 and 1340 respectively so about the exact same. I tested Alk as well with Hanna dkH meter at 10.1.
