1 bag of IO Salt makes how many gallons of water at 1.026?

I am trying to set up a station that as saltwater ready at all times, and would like to make up enough at 1 time to just dump an entire bag of IO Salt from their 200 gallon box...I just can't find anywhere that says: 1 bag of IO salt makes 41 gallons of water at 1.026 (or whatever it makes)

Probably can’t find specific info at 1.026 because it’s outside the recommended range. Way too early for me to math this for ya; maybe others can help

It usually says on the box the it makes xxx amount and such & Such degrees. The salinity we vary depending on temperature where the salt is mixed and stored and the system, unless you heat stored water the same as the tank temp. There is no easy answer:)

You'll probably just have to start off with less water. I would dump the 200gal bag into your mixing station and add 185 gallons of water, let it mix then keep adding 1 gallon of water at a time until you get your target SG.

Just be advised that it's typically not recommended to store mixed saltwater for extended periods of time. Most people recommend just mixing enough for your water change a couple hours prior to use.

I use one bag per 55 gallons in my wc reservoir. Seems to be about the right ratio

Forgot, I use this calculator link and it is pretty good for mixing. For water impurity I use zero. My reservoir is not heated and I mix for the tank temp.

One thing is to have a good refractometer;)

Well.. it is a 200 gallon box of 4 equally measured bags. 50 gallons a bag but as jskr mentioned other variables can effect the final result. I keep containers of 40 gallons each. They are heated to tank temp and I dump about 80% of a bag into each to hit 1.025. After doing this so many times I can usually hit my intended SG on the first pour.
I have kept containers of mixed saltwater for weeks with zero issue. Heaters and powerheads in both.

I mix big containers of saltwater and keep it covered for weeks with no issue

In a 200 gallon box of io with four bags. 1 bag will make 43 ish gallons of water at 1.026. Thats in your typical 44 gallon brute trash can by rubbermaid. It doesnt take the whole bag. Some is left in the corner. Approximately a half cup or cup.

I would start at 170g for the whole thing and add water from there. I doubt it makes much more than that.

44 gallons. I use the 50g bags and the fill a 44g brute right up to the top where it will just barely not spill out.

Edit: my IO mix is 50g bag into cold water. Add 2 tbsp of dowflake. Mix. Heat. Add 20mls of Muratic Acid (lowers the alk). Mix for 2 more days to drive off co2 and raise pH back up. This is about 6.7 dKh, 425 calcium and 1.026 salinity.
