Where are people buying their instant ocean salt? I am trying to see if I can get it cheaper anywhere as I use around 2 bags of the 200 gallon box a week since my total volume is around 600g.

Yikes that’s a lot of salt, have you thought about alternative methods to water changes? May be worth looking into with that much volume

I have looked into red sea colors, I am exploring other options but the way my SPS responds when I do water changes is insane so I am not sure I want to change what is working haha. Luckily my LFS sells the 200 boxes for $36 so really it isnt that bad for the amount of SPS I have to keep healthy and happy :)

Amazon and Live Aquaria, when on sale.
I too have a 600 gallon system and do a 10% change per week.
Salt usage comes with the territory.
I believe there are 36 pails to the pallet if you have storage room......*-*

The price changes a lot on amazon but usually you can eventually get it for about $35 a box maybe slightly less. You gotta monitor it and sometimes they have coupons you have to apply ect. Someone else already mentioned a pallet might be something you want to look into.

Just looked at your build thread and you must be doing something right! Looks great

The Hidden Reef has the 200 box for $32.99 that’s what I use.

It doesn’t expire. No reason to not stock up ;)
Unless the package is damaged and moisture gets in. I stock up as well typically have multiple boxes. Opened one this weekend and half the bags were yellow and rock solid with no visible damage on the outside. Had them for maybe 6 months. Decided to open the rest and ended up throwing over 200 gal of salt out.

That sucks!
