Insulation phone strips under $125 gallon tank

I made a stand for my $125 gallon tank and was going to put half inch insulation board strips under it maybe an inch wide to level it out is this a good idea thanks in advance for everyone's opinion

Considered a leveling mat would be acceptable

This is what I used under my 150g and 180g tanks. It doesn't compress a lot but enough that the tank frame will leave an impression. I didn't used strips tho I just cut a piece the size of the tank frame. I think 1 inch would be more than is needed which may not be a good thing.

I would personally use no foam at all on a rimmed tank. Not really doing anything for you. Unless it's recommended by manufacturer(which never seen for a rimmed tank) I would never do it. If I were to do it anyway I would go much thinner than half inch. As that compresses eventually the rim will possibly compress/cut the spots it sits on enough that the remaining foam to the side may start putting pressure on the glass....which is very much what you don't want on a rimmed tank.

Also would add that mats and foam don't level anything. On a rimless tank they can be useful to minimize pressure points by raised spots in the stand,, a piece of gravel, etc. But if the tank is not level left to right or front to back these mats don't make them any more level
