Soon I will be adding water to some larger hdpe open top tanks I will be using as sump chambers. These will be sitting directly on a concrete slab which I've never done before.

The room is air-conditioned. Trying to decide if building a small riser to allow for 1" insulation under the containers so they do not directly contact the concrete would be worthwhile. Anyone ever insulated under a sump before or have any idea what the electrical savings could be?

I have a 1/4" foam mat under my sump inside my cabinet. I'm sure there is a fair amount of insulation from the matting, but the main reason was for stability. If you're putting the sump chambers directly on a concrete floor, I would suggest doing something similar. Not only will it provide insulation from the cold floor, but will help distribute the weight of the chambers from any inconstancies in the floor's surface.

the main reason was for stability

The floor is flat enough and the tanks are flexible enough that the stability of the bottom isn't a concern. There are no chambers in the tank - just an open rectangular aquaculture container. This will only be for saving energy from heat loss.
