Maybe an unusual question. Is it worthwhile putting my new reef tank onto my household insurance? Should we for example have a power cut.
 
I’m an insurance broker in the UK in the commercial sector, and you can insure tanks and equipment against loss or damage, but generally live stock is excluded or damage caused by them

As far as insurance is concerned, go for the best you can afford because you get what you pay for, and cheap insurance is cheap for a reason. Most people don’t read the policy, think they’ve just got a fantastic deal that covers absolutely everything, and then complain when there not insured, but then it was cheap.....
